As the son of a naval officer, Chris lived in cities and towns around the U.S. and abroad. In 1989 he moved to Framingham and chose it as the place to raise his family, establish his business and become deeply involved in the committees and organizations that make Framingham the vibrant, interesting and important community that it is.
His experience as an architect (as an aside, there are no registered architects in the General Court of the Commonwealth) gives him the ability to imagine possibilities, create solutions to problems and chart out the course for bringing ideas to life. As a business owner, Chris appreciates what it takes to create jobs, meet payroll, compete and navigate bureaucracies. His work at Town Meeting and on the many boards, commissions and committees that he has served honed his skill for collaboration and finding common ground on difficult and complex issues. And, as a parent, he knows how important a good education is if young people are to be equipped with the knowledge and preparation it takes to succeed in the 21st century.

Chris lives and works in Framingham with his wife, Cindy. Cindy Walsh also is an entrepreneur; she is the owner of Red Rover Clothing, a 15-year-old clothing design and manufacturing company. Red Rover is sold nationally through wholesalers and regionally through Cindy’s retail store at Framingham Centre and craft expositions throughout the Northeast. They have two children who went through the Framingham public school system. Daughter Kate is a recent graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and son, James, is a student at Columbia College in Chicago. Chris’s parents, Sheila and Rear Admiral Jack Walsh, U.S. Navy Ret., moved to Framingham in 1975.
In addition to his civic involvement, Chris was a long-time Framingham youth soccer coach and has taught architecture and design courses at the Boston Architectural College.
